Clean 15 & Dirty dozen

hi, friend!
I’m Brit
Hi friend, I’m Brit.
Fifteen years ago, I was standing in my kitchen holding my one-year-old on my hip, looking at the ingredient list on the chicken nuggets I was about to feed him. Most of it wasn’t food at all. That one moment sent me down a rabbit hole I never really climbed back out of, first food labels, then household products, then pretty much everything we bring into our home.
I didn’t inherit this lifestyle. I grew up on squeeze cheese and sugar cereal like most of us did. I learned all of this from scratch, one swap at a time, usually replacing something the moment we ran out of it rather than overhauling everything overnight. That’s still how I do it today, and it’s how I teach it too.
I’m the wife and mama behind The Hensrude Home, based just outside Nashville. This corner of the internet is built around four things I actually live by:
Non-toxic living. Real swaps for the products already in your home, not a scary list of everything to fear.
Clean eating. Real, whole-ingredient food that tastes good, because in our house, gluten and dairy free isn’t a trend, it’s just how we eat.
Natural wellness. Supporting your body’s own ability to heal, with tools and remedies that actually work.
Household rhythms. Simple routines that create more freedom, not more rules.
Here’s what I want you to know before you read another word on this site: you will never be 100% toxin-free, and that’s not the goal. The goal is intentional progress, permission to not be perfect, and a solid foundation so you’re not starting from zero the way I did.
If you’re new here, a good place to start is the 7 Days to a Less Toxic Home challenge, one small, doable habit a day, completely free. If you’re ready to go deeper, The Intentional Home is everything I’ve learned over 15 years, organized room by room, so you don’t have to piece it together the way I did.
As always, cheering you on!
