Rebounding. Have you heard of this little trendy word all over social media lately? I imagine you are picturing some kind of trampoline exercises or trampoline workout. If that’s what you were thinking, you are on the right track–you might even call it a health bounce!

In recent years, this new wellness trend has emerged and it’s not only fun, but also highly beneficial for your body: rebounding specifically for lymphatic drainage. You’ve likely seen influencers and health enthusiasts jumping on mini trampolines. But what’s the actual benefits of rebounding, and how can it help with lymphatic drainage? Let me talk to you about this low impact movement of rebounding, and explore how this simple activity can have a profound impact on your overall health and further benefit your non toxic lifestyle. For me personally, it has become the best exercise each morning! I assure you, it doesn’t matter your fitness levels, anyone can benefit from this exercise!
What is Lymphatic Drainage?
Before we talk about what rebounding looks like for the human body, it’s important to first understand the lymphatic system and why it’s so vital. After all, this vigorous exercise is focused on helping the lymphatic system! This entire system is essentially your body’s waste removal system. It carries immune cells and helps eliminate toxins, waste, and excess fluids from your body. Unlike your circulatory system, which is powered by the heart, the lymphatic system–your secondary circulatory system– doesn’t have a pump. Instead, it relies on physical movement to keep lymph flowing through your body. Your lymphatic health and lymphatic circulation plays an important part in your over all health. This is where rebounding comes in.
Why Rebounding for Lymphatic Drainage?
Rebounding involves jumping on a mini trampoline, which provides a gentle yet effective workout that stimulates the lymphatic system. Different Ways You Can Rebound
- Basic Bouncing—The simplest form of rebounding is just gentle bouncing on the mini trampoline. This basic rebounding I always just start out with! With my feet barely leaving the surface, this movement encourages lymph flow and promotes circulation without being too strenuous. This gentle bounce is perfect for beginners or those who want a low-impact workout.
- Jumping Jacks on the Trampoline—Once you’ve gotten comfortable with basic bouncing, take it up a notch by adding jumping jacks while rebounding. The arm movements combined with the bouncing increase lymphatic drainage and activate both your upper and lower body, providing a more full-body workout. You don’t have to do this exercise for long periods, but I have found adding a little more time as you get use to the move, is helpful!
- High Knees—For a more intense workout, try doing high knees while rebounding. This move gets your heart pumping and engages your core, all while helping to detoxify your body. High knees also improves balance and coordination, making this a great option if you’re looking to add variety to your rebounding routine. Again, at the beginning if you need to do this exercise only for a brief time, that’s ok!
- Twisting and Toning—Adding twists while bouncing can help target your core muscles and enhance lymphatic drainage. To do this, bounce lightly on the trampoline and twist your torso from side to side, as if you’re wringing out a towel. This movement is great for stimulating your digestive organs and improving your metabolism. This movement actually takes less effort than you would think!
- Sprint Intervals—For those looking for more of a cardio challenge, you can try sprint intervals on your mini trampoline. Alternate between short bursts of fast, high-intensity jumps and slower, recovery bounces. This method can help increase the efficiency of your lymphatic system by getting the fluid moving more quickly and providing a full-body workout.
